# Privacy & POPIA Policy — Blind Solutions

**Blind Solutions (Pty) Ltd** (registration number 2020/772481/07) is the responsible party for personal information collected through blindsolutions.co.za, the Somfy online shop and the Blind Solutions Academy. Information Officer: **Ben Blignaut** (sales@blindsolutions.co.za, marked "Attention: Information Officer"); registration of the Information Officer with the Information Regulator is pending. ## What we collect and why
- **Enquiries, quotes, measuring appointments** — name, email, phone, site address, project detail. Purpose: answer the enquiry, quote, measure, install. Basis: contract / legitimate interest.
- **Orders and payments** — billing and delivery details, order contents, payment status. **Card data is never seen or stored by Blind Solutions**; it goes directly to the payment gateway. Basis: contract and legal obligation.
- **Academy accounts** — name, email, encrypted credentials, purchases, course progress, assessment results. Basis: contract.
- **Correspondence and site security** — messages you send; technical data (IP, browser, request logs) processed by hosting/security providers. Basis: legitimate interest.

No special personal information, and no knowing collection from children.

## Cookies
No advertising trackers and no third-party analytics profiling on this website. Cookies are used only where a page needs them (basket, Academy login) and by hosting/security providers.

## Sharing
Shared only with operators who need it: hosting/CDN/security, our customer and quoting system, our email provider, our payment gateway, manufacturers/couriers/installers, accountants, and authorities where legally required. **We never sell personal information or share it for third-party marketing.**

## Cross-border
Some hosting, CDN and email providers process data outside South Africa. Per POPIA s72 we use only providers bound to protection substantially similar to POPIA and barred from using the data for their own purposes.

## Retention
Unconverted enquiries ≤24 months · customer/project records for the relationship plus warranty/legal-claim periods · invoices and tax records ≥5 years (SA tax and company law) · Academy accounts while active, then as needed to verify certificates.

## Security
HTTPS throughout, least-privilege access, hashed credentials, card data handled entirely by the gateway, provider-level security controls (POPIA s19). Breaches affecting you are reported to you and the Information Regulator (s22).

## Your rights (POPIA s23–25)
Access · correction · deletion · objection · withdrawal of consent · unsubscribe · complaint to the Regulator. Email sales@blindsolutions.co.za marked "Attention: Information Officer". Access requests follow PAIA; a prescribed fee may apply.
